Welcome to the SBR Pitching Clinic! My name is Leanna Assels, a dedicated softball pitching instruction with over 6 years of experience helping athletes reach their full potential on the mound. As a former NAIA University Pitcher for Trinity International University and SAIT, I bring both high-level playing experience and a passion for teaching the fundamentals of successful pitching. I specialize in working with pitchers of any skill level, focusing on building strong mechanics, mental toughness, and confidence in every athlete I coach. My coaching style emphasizes individualized instruction for long-term development. Whether you are just starting out or preparing for the next level, this clinic is designed to elevate your game. FACILITATOR: JENELLE MAUL
Jenelle has over 15 years of sport coaching experience with the last 5 years dedicated to youth female competitive softball. With her lived in experience of sport and exercise science education, Jenelle educates girls so they can both maximize both their athletic performance and their wellbeing. Jenelle’s strengths lie in the ability to communicate fundamentals in a simplistic way, which empowers young athletes to grow at an accelerated rate. Her care and candor with a balance of discipline and accountability leaves a lasting impression on her athletes. As a NCCP softball introduction to competition certified coach and her lived in experience as a multi sport University athlete in hockey and softball, Jenelle brings a holistic approach to her clinics that will leave her athletes excited to come back each and every session!

U13+ SBR HITTING CLINIC (7 SESSIONS)
FACILITATOR: MIKI KAWAHARA
Miki graduated with his degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia. While in college he was an academic all-Canadian playing for the Douglas College Royals (NWAACC) and the UBC Thunderbirds (NAIA). After finishing his playing career, Miki remained in British Columbia until 2007. While in BC he coached with West Coast Softball working in all areas of player development as well as being a lead facilitator at dozens of softball clinics. Since moving to Calgary Miki has developed Diamondawgs, a softball education company committed to providing players with the highest level of on-field instruction and personal development. Diamondawgs has worked with a number of local softball programs to help them raise the level of athlete education. His international experience includes working with the Venezuelan National Softball team in charge of hitting and outfield development as they prepared to host the World Championships.

SBR CATCHING CLINIC (6 SESSIONS)
FACILITATOR: COOPER FINCH
Cooper Finch’s baseball career has taken him across the world. A catcher and corner infielder who helped Austria’s Stockerau Cubs take home gold in Europe’s largest tournament, Cooper got his start with Absolute Sports and the Junior Dinos program before playing college ball. As a coach, Cooper believes in holistic player growth beyond skill development.
