Purpose: 

The Rockies Player ID camp identifies athletes that would like to compete for our Rockies Purple and Gold teams, as well as a potential to compete at the A and B Level tournaments in the 2027 season. The selected athletes will train together throughout the off season alongside SBR coaches and specialized facilitators. Players are welcome outside of our SBR catchment zones to play in our Purple and Gold teams.

Player age groups for this camp will be as follows:

U13 (birth year 2014 and 2015)​

U15 (birth year 2012 and 2013)

U17 (birth year 2010 and 2011)

U19 (birth year 2008 and 2009)​​​

Team Selection 

The U13 and U15 Purple and Gold team rosters will be selected at the completion of the ID camp. Each team will select 11-13 players. For U17 and U19, we will be looking at a similar concept for teams but will depend on the number of athletes trying out for those age groups. Teams will train together over the off-season in preparation for the 2027 ball season (i.e. all U13 Purple and Gold players will train together, and coaches will work collaboratively. ) 

Winter Training Costs 

While we are awaiting final amounts for facilities, training opportunities, and other costs, we wanted to provide an estimate of costs for the winter training sessions. We are anticipating a cost of approximately $800 - $1100 per player for the 2026 season. This price estimate includes player registration for the 2026 season, facility rentals, camp apparel, and specialty instructor costs. Both the Purple and Gold teams will be playing in Calgary Minor Division 1, or the Rep Division which also incurs an extra fee through Calgary Minor. This fee for 2025 was $57.50 per player; however, this fee is subject to being increased on an actual cost and will not be finalized until the 2026 season. Division 1 players will be notified of the fee during the 2027 season.
